UTILITY PROCEDURES for renters
Electricity: Landlord must call LIPA 800 490 0025 to arrange
for transfer of service into tenants' name. - Request a meter
reading and then tenant will call too.
OIL: Landlord will have tank filled at the beginning of the lease
and refilled at the termination of lease. A bill should be obtained
and presented to the tenant. The tenant is responsible
for oil fills.
GAS: has been topped off at the end of lease tenant tops it off
FIREWOOD: Tenant is responsible for their own firewood.
TELEPHONE: Landlord must call telephone business office 631
890 1350 and arrange to have service switched to tenants name for the
period of rental. The Tenant must also call the phone company
and confirm that they are renting and accepting the transfer. The
least expensive way is to use the number already in service on
the premises.
REFUSE: Winter Bros. 631 324 0112 or Dump on Us Recyclers 267
8005 or Mickey's 668 9120 to set up garbage removal. If you plan to
use the dump you will need a sticker (bring your lease) from
the town hall obtainable for $35. or pay $5. to the town dump
for each visit.
CABLE TV, Internet, Telephone, 631 267 6900 - Cablevision
CLEANING: Premises must be delivered in clean condition up arrival of
tenant. The tenant is responsible to leave the house in clean condition
as found and remove all food and refuse. Cleaning Person:
SECURITY DEPOSIT: Landlord should inspect premises for cleanliness
and any damages within a reasonable time after tenant vacates in order
to ensure prompt and timely return of security.
BEACH STICKERS - NON RESIDENT BEACH/VEHICLE PERMITS: Contact
East Hampton Town Clerk's Office at 631 324 4143.The Town Hallis
open Monday through Friday from 9AM - 4PM, Saturday hours will begin
in summer.
The Town Permit is $200.00 and be sure to bring
your car registration and a copy of your lease. Village
Permits can be obtained at Village Hall, Main Street, East Hampton
631 324 4150 or after Memorial Day at Main Beach. Village
Beach Permits are an additional $200.00.
